MISTIQUE

Mistique is a horse who's name even suggests that it is mystical, mighty and magical. The sculpture is depicting a horses head in an unusual posture where the head is facing downward. The sculpture begins with a wooden base at the bottom and then continues upwards with the horses muzzle and then with the head where it's mane slowly disperses into empty space adding a mystical quality to the sculpture where the light plays and shows the sculpture going from realism to abstract. The base of the sculpture is a very old railroad track beam adding to it's mysticism. The wooden base is an old recycled part of a train track that servers as an ideal base for the real sized sculpture of the horses head that is created form an artificial type clay covered with fiber glass and an epoxy resin covered with a real copper and bronze patina
