Transforming the silkscreen process from a singular image, as in a monotype, then compounded with numerous additional passes of the silk screen creates a unique image as in a painting. This approach to the silk screen is what I term creating a “screen painting” that cannot be duplicated exactly more than once. This can encompass adding additional properties such as UV, phosphorous pigments or embedded glass particles to create a multi medium image. This transformation of the silk screen beyond makes it a unique painting medium.
