Max ROVIRA

Painter

Max Rovira is a Catalan painter of Spanish origin. His early work was oriented towards post-impressionism, and then, while maintaining pictorial rigour, he projected himself into a palette of an inexhaustible variety of reflections and light and thus modified his attitude towards reality. His canvases then came close to cubism with a certain nostalgia and sadness compensated by a chromatic range that became more and more vivid. Self-taught, he found his own style, inspired by the statues of Easter Island. His painting is powerful and generous, his colours sometimes hot and sometimes cold in a frantic rhythm, leaving us in no way indifferent. Everything is architectural and is positioned as "a painting of freedom".
