Laurent Ferrié, alias Loferrie, is a self-taught French artist. He has spent the past 23 years of his life living and working in the UK, today back to his roots, he lives in the south of France.
Loferrie began painting in 2014, exploring variations of abstract techniques, quickly evolving into a geometric abstract style known as 'hard-edge'.
Loferrie explores the intersection of geometric shapes and abstraction, with the integration of symbols that represent an idea or concept.
He promotes the idea of the relationship between the geometric and the symbolic, embodying an ideal and universal harmony.
His inspiration is mainly a spiritual process, a conduit of energies translated into forms and colours on canvas.
His visual and artistic influences are cubist, deconstructivist, minimalist and surrealist variations.

Since March 2021, I have produced the "Human Quantum Flow" series from my studio, and acrylic seems the right medium to accomplish the task. I have always been passionate about geometry, structural forms, and aerial shapes, so it was logical for me to start the process with hard-edge geometric abstraction, defining clear blocks in the painting construction, therefore amplifying the impact on those who view my work. I have used a strong color palette that resonates consistently throughout the series, supporting the narrative, and aiming to lift the spirit of the viewer.

Loferrie focuses predominantly on soulful geometric abstraction.

His sharp lines and curves are recognisable characteristics in his work, where he masterfully creates bold, vibrant paintings, eliminating any visual confusion, enabling the viewer to experience his compositions for what they represent and understand them in a clear visual language.

A refined geometric vocabulary allows him to bring to life striking visuals for new narratives to be told, synthesised through visionary imagination.

Loferrie's intuitive process originates from a meditative state, giving rise to vibrant atmospheric three dimensional compositions.

Drawing from timeless universal wisdom and contemporary insights, Loferrie's work explores our human experience in this ever-changing technological world.

The awareness and connection to self, nurtured by these traditions is what he translates in his studio practice, lived like a visual meditation, channeling pure energies.

The core of his creative process is to bring mindfulness into existence and promote a positive message aiming toward a more peaceful and beautiful world.
