The painting was made during the coronavirus lockdown and was inspired by the book ‘Eyes of Tigers’ by Tonke Dragt. Her descriptions of a vision of the future inspired the Artist to incorporate parts of the text into the painting using metal leaf. The atmosphere and appearance of the work of art are, just like in a real city, strongly influenced by the incidence of (sun)light.
