MUMBAI AT NIGHT

The poem “Scratches from another world” written by Joop Alleblas served as a source of inspiration for this painting. The poem is difficult to translate, but it is a bit like this: “When I was child, I had great admiration for the city / the rare times I was allowed to go there, I returned euphorically / and scratches from another world appeared on my skin / [...]”
