L'INSURGÉ

This collection of paintings extends the previous series of "Tragic Figures". The implementation by "copying" photographs cut out of newspapers remains the same for a work anchored in figuration, an almost classical realism, this questioning of the notion of "models" and "representation" in painting. This easel painting acts as an exorcism, symbolically appropriating reality. Those who look at us, are those who on the reverse side of the mirror, in the field of fiction, or of the truth retransmitted by the media would look at us through the lens even more than we, the public, look at them.
